Are boys or girls better at spatial intelligence tests? Hypothesis:I think boys will be better because spatial intelligence is a left-brained intelligence (which is generally more dominant in men). Variables:My different variables would be the boys versus the girls for the different tests. Equipment:My equipment will be the directions I give to people and the pictures I will have them look at and draw. Procedure:
My procedure is that I will test six boys and girls ages 12-14. There will be three different tests.
The total score for the three tests for each of the six boys was between 10 and 13 points. When all of my subjects were done testing, I compared all of the tests and figured out that boys had a higher score than the girls did. Therefore, my hypothesis was correct. There were some girls who said they could not even do the tests because they were too hard to do. This is because women are dominant in the right brain and men are dominant in the left brain. Spatial intelligence is a left-brained intelligence. Some examples of the tests that people had to do are: visualizing directions in their head and drawing a three-dimensional object from a piece of paper. There are many different intelligences, but men seem to be better at spatial intelligence tests than women are. Testing a greater number of people of different ages might be worthwhile. Biblical Application:
This experiment attempted to find out whether boys or girls were better at spatial intelligence
tests. God wants us to use our different intelligences to serve Him.
Many people have used spatial intelligence to serve God.
Architects and designers use it to build churches.
No matter what our intelligence-dominance is, God wants us to use it for His glory. |
